I’m very excited to announce the opening of my exhibition Illusions!
Dear friends, followers, and art lovers, today I want to share with you some very special news. After months of work, reflection, and creation, the time has come to open the doors to my new exhibition, titled Illusions, which will be open to the public from May 8th to May 22nd at the Torre del Mar Tourism Office.
The exhibition has been curated by the Torre del Mar City Council, in Malaga, which transforms these spaces into cultural and artistic centers with the goal of bringing art closer to local residents and visitors alike. Torre del Mar, with its diverse mix of cultures and nationalities among the many visitors it receives both nationally and internationally, is an ideal place to share this show with a broad and varied audience.
Since I began my artistic journey, I have always felt a deep fascination with how we perceive the world and how our memories and experiences shape that perception. My path in art has been a constant quest to understand and represent these internal dynamics, the illusions we build every day in our minds. The Illusions series is, in many ways, the result of that exploration—a reflection of how perception and memory influence our understanding of reality.
What is Illusions about?
The Illusions series offers a profound reflection on the fundamental role that perception and memory play in constructing our worldview. Each piece I have created invites viewers to immerse themselves in a process of personal and subjective interpretation. In these works, reality is not something fixed or absolute; rather, it is shaped by individual experiences, thoughts, and memories that intertwine and transform with each gaze.
For me, art has always been a way to explore those invisible layers that make up our perception. In Illusions, I use techniques that are essential to creating these works. Through long exposures and optical changes, I modify both space and light, playing with the perception of a constantly transforming reality. The idea is that the viewer not only sees the work but also experiences it—feeling how reality shifts and transforms in a dynamic, fluid process.
These techniques allow the artwork to capture not just a moment but also to transform it, inviting viewers to experience a more flexible and moving reality. In this context, perception becomes ephemeral and mutable, reflecting the changing nature of our memory and how we interpret the world around us.
My background and my inspiration.
Let me tell you a little about my background. Since discovering my passion for art, I have dedicated my life to exploring different media and techniques to express my ideas. My training in audiovisual communication has allowed me to experiment with various forms of expression, from painting and analog photography to advertising and film.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to exhibit in several galleries and spaces both nationally and internationally, always seeking to connect with the public through universal themes such as perception, memory, and identity. Each exhibition has been a chance to learn, grow, and deepen those ideas that have accompanied me since my first steps into the art world.
My inspiration comes from everyday life, from the small perceptions we often overlook, and from how those perceptions can change over time. Memory, in particular, is a theme that fascinates me: how we remember, how we forget, and how those invisible traces influence our view of the present, art, and life.
What do I expect them to experience in Illusions?
My wish with this exhibition is that the works can be contemplated and shared by a diverse audience: from children on school trips to local residents and international visitors exploring this part of La Axarquía, so rich in history and cultural heritage.
I hope that those who visit the exhibition will enjoy the journey, let themselves be carried away by the sensations conveyed by the pieces, and find in my work an enriching experience—a way to see and interpret the world through art and emotions.
